I am a guest participant on the One Room Challenge, which originally started out as a way for designers to finish a room in their own homes and blog about it during the 6 weeks of ongoing work. You can read the blogs of the 20 designers and 300 plus guest here. Thanks also to Better Homes and Gardens for being the media sponsor for this event. This is week 3, but you can also read about week 1 and week 2

Master Bedroom makeover

All of a sudden this week I woke up and realized that I had not ordered my flooring yet. We had decided to redo all the floors in the downstairs area at the same time as the master bedroom. Because of our indecision and the extreme chunk of money it would take to do all the downstairs (champagne taste, beer money) we decided to change plans midstream and do only the bedroom in a Luxury Vinyl Plank or LVP as we call it in our world. The LVP that we ordered is waterproof which is important since our house flooded during hurricane Harvey. We loved the look of tile but felt that it would be warmer and softer under our feet to do LVP with a cork backing.

This was a busy week!

This week I received my curtains from the workroom and they are beautiful. I decided to have my curtain rod shipped in 2 pieces as the last time I ordered a 12 ft. pole and picked it up it did not end well for my windshield. (Oh yes I smashed my liftgate and the pole decided it would try to force its way out the windshield). I ordered a smooth pole but instead received 2 fluted ones and then decided it was just not worth trying to return it and get the curtain rods in time for installation.

My bed

Today I received pictures of my new bed upholstered in COM fabric from Kristin Drohan Collection. I can’t hold it I am so excited! No I am not sharing the whole thing yet!! Ok maybe a corner! All I can say is that it is a one of a kind bed and it is beautiful and colorful. It will be shipped this week.

What else did we do?

I got carried away and painted the doors in our bedroom blue too. Still part of the shock my husband received. I doubted myself for about a minute but now I love it.

I am getting excited about the end result of all this. I think I have never had a bedroom this beautiful!
